Opportunities for Offshoot Reviews based on STRONG-AYA Research

Following the publication of our comprehensive literature review, we would like to invite researchers and clinicians to explore opportunities for conducting offshoot reviews based on the dataset generated through this work.

The literature review provides an overview of relevant outcomes of Adolescents and Young Adults (AYAs) with cancer in order to develop a core outcome set (COS: an agreed standardised collection of outcomes) for this population. The review offers a broad evidence base that may support more focused analyses of specific outcomes, tumour types, patient groups, or other research questions of interest. The original search was conducted up to a fixed cut-off date. Investigators interested in an offshoot review would therefore perform an updated literature review to capture studies published since then.

We encourage anyone interested to first consult the published review article, understand the scope of the available data and the methodology used, in order to assess how the dataset can support their intended topic. You can also find an example of an offshoot review based on this work here.

Please briefly describe your area of interest and the proposed topic for the offshoot review in your email. The STRONG-AYA team will review all expressions of interest and follow up to discuss feasibility, overlap with ongoing projects, and potential collaboration opportunities.
