1. GENERAL
A. Cookies
i. The STRONG AYA website, managed by Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI), uses various cookies. A cookie is a small text file, stored locally in your internet browser cache by your computer, tablet or smartphone. When you visit the same site again, cookies allow the website to recognize your browser and, as a result, store your user preferences.

ii. There are different types of cookies:

a. Functional cookies are cookies with a purely technical functionality. These ensure that the website works properly, such as remembering your preferences for example. We can also use this to improve our website and optimize our services via the website.

b. Third-party analytical cookies. These cookies can keep track of your surfing behavior. These cookies are used by third-party service providers such as Google Analytics.

c. Tracking cookies are placed by an external party. By reading the cookies, the advertiser recognizes you when you visit a site another site where they are also involved. If you continue to surf, personalized advertisements are displayed. These cookies can also track your surfing behavior and a very specific profile can be built up by these parties. This profile may be so detailed that it constitutes personal data.

These cookies are placed by Google Analytics. This measures how much users visit the website, and how they use the website. Your IP address is masked, so that you remain anonymous as a visitor.

3. GOOGLE ANALYTICS

A. Google
i. A cookie is placed via our website, by the Company Google (Alphabet). These cookies are part of the “Analytics” service. We use this service to investigate how you as a visitor use our website and about this Google makes insightful reports for us.
ii. Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally required to do so or insofar as third parties process the information on behalf of Google. The Netherlands Cancer Institute, as the Data Controller for the STRONG AYA website, has no influence on this.

B. Privacy Settings
i. By means of this cookie statement we inform you about the use of this type of cookie.
ii. The Netherlands Cancer Institute has concluded a processing agreement with Google.
iii. The information that Google collects is anonymized as much as possible, your IP address is masked so that your location cannot be traced.
iv. We have not given Google permission to share the collected data with other products or services from Google (such as Adwords, DoubleClick).

4. THIRD PARTY WEBSITES AND CHANGES

i. This cookie statement does not apply to third-party websites that are operated by means of links connected to our website. It is not possible for the Netherlands Cancer Institute to guarantee that these third parties handle your personal datain a reliable and secure manner. ii. 5. VIEW, MODIFY OR DELETE DATA

A. Your rights

i. You have the right to:
a. view your personal data;
b. submit a request for correction of data;
c. to request that we process less data;
d. request deletion of your data;
e. have your data transferred to someone else and,
f. to submit a complaint as further described in Article 6 of the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

ii. If you have any questions or comments about the data processing by the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI), please send a request to communicatie@nki.nl.

iii. The Netherlands Cancer Institute wants verify that the request for access is made by you. We therefore kindly ask you, together with your request for access, to enclose a copy of your proof of identity. To protect your privacy and verify your identity, the Netherlands Cancer Institute requests you to provide a copy of your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and citizen service number (BSN).

iv. The Netherlands Cancer Institute will respond to your request as soon as possible and within four weeks.
